The best way to protect your data is to not collect it in the first place. DressMatcher is designed around this principle. We collect the minimum amount of anonymous data needed to run and improve the service.
Anonymous analytics data (via Google Analytics) showing how people use the site in aggregate. Account information (name, email, birthday) is stored securely. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Anonymous analytics data shows how people use the site in aggregate.
If you're signed in, your saved dresses are stored securely with your account and sync across the devices where you're signed in. If you're not signed in, favorites are kept in your browser's local storage on that device only and aren't transmitted to our servers.
When you upload a photo through the in-quiz image search, the image is forwarded to Google's Gemini and Vertex AI services to extract visual attributes and a similarity embedding. We use the returned attributes and embedding to rank our existing catalog. The raw image is not written to DressMatcher's database and is not retained on our servers after the request completes. Google's handling of the data is governed by their own terms for Gemini and Vertex AI.
We don't share any data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes. Google Analytics receives anonymous usage data. When you click through to a retailer, your interaction with their site is governed by their data practices.
DressMatcher uses HTTPS encryption for all connections. All account data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
You have full rights to access, export, or delete your account data at any time from your account settings page. For GDPR or CCPA requests, email admin@dressmatcher.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
